The National Science Foundation recently awarded eight new PREM grants to help support materials research collaborations between minority-serving institutions and large research facilities across the U.S. The PREM program — established in 2004 — is designed to encourage young and aspiring scientists and engineers not only to pursue a degree in materials research but also to forge a successful career in the field.
